Thank you to everyone who came out to our Cincy Sundaes #2 on Sunday, May 11 at Covington Arts!
132 people from 36 neighborhoods heard presentations from four innovators striving to make the region better. Thanks to the generosity of everyone in attendance and the 1 to 1 match provided by The Big Idea Challenge of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, a total of $1,320 was awarded to the winning organization, MYCincinnati.
MYCincinnati (Music for Youth in Cincinnati) is a free youth orchestra program in Price Hill. Founded on the idea that personal transformation can be achieved by striving towards musical excellence, MYCincinnati offers children in Price Hill the opportunity to learn violin, viola or cello and play in an orchestra. MYCincinnati is inspired by El Sistema, Venezuela's revolutionary youth orchestra program that uses music as a vehicle for social change.
Other presentations included a Night Market in Tobacco Alley in Covington inspired by successful night markets in San Francisco and Bangkok, an effort from Spring in our Steps to clean up two alleys in Over the Rhine to use for art installations and events, and the I.F. Cincy Impov Festival from OTRimprov.

All four ideas were really awesome and any of them would have been great ways to spend $1,320!
