Thank you to everyone who came out to our first Cincy Sundaes on Sunday, April 13 at Rhinegeist in Over the Rhine!
175 people from 50 neighborhoods heard presentations from four innovators striving to make the region better. Thanks to the generosity of everyone in attendance and the 1 to 1 match provided by The Big Idea Challenge of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, a total of $1,730 was awarded to the winning organization, Art on the Streets for their idea called ArtWalks.
ArtWalks is an initiative to paint colorful crosswalks in Over the Rhine, Northside, and Walnut Hills during summer at community events when the streets will be closed for already planned street festivals. Presenter Margy Waller explained that there is evidence from around the world that an artistically painted crosswalk slows traffic, improving the safety of the street. The first crosswalk will be painted this summer in Over the Rhine as part of the already scheduled Second Sunday event.
Other presentations included a flash-mob to encourage dancing in neighborhoods throughout the region from Pones, Inc., a bike-map of Cincinnati from Nate Wessel, and community gardens to connect Walnut Hills residents with fresh produce from Elevate Walnut Hills.

All four presentations were incredibly strong and would add tremendous value to the Greater Cincinnati community; every presenter set a great precedent for future events! In other words, they totally killed it!

Huge thank you to The Big Idea Challenge of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation for providing the 1 to 1 match, doubling the amount
